Chapter 118: The Streets Of Denibi Trade Station
The three of us made our way back to the station again. This time we had two objectives.
First, we need to get more clothes for Lea. The slave trader was not kidding when he said that the clothes he could provide were ones that are meant to be used in the bedroom. They were all practically just lingerie or erotic outfits…
Secondly, we need to buy stuff that Lea needs to get a bigger hydroponics farm running on the ship.
As we were leaving the hanger though, Amber was looking at her personal terminal when she let out a gasp.
“Oh~ Seems like the loot we got from the pirates got sold for six hundred thousand Credits in total~”
Six hundred thousand huh… Not really a lot I guess.
Wait, wait, wait… That’s actually a lot of money… My sense of value really is crumbling… That’s not good.
Oh well… I can’t help it when my expenditures have gone up to the millions…
I was expecting Amber to keep the money this time since she already let me keep the fifteen million from our drug sale but then I got a notification on my Codex that showed six hundred thousand Credits had just been transferred to me.
I turned to her, “Wait, are you serious? You’re not even keeping half?”
She blinked at me, “Eh? Oh… I mean… At this stage I felt that since we’re already a thing, it goes without saying that what’s mine is yours right? Or was I mistaken to think that?”
I mean… Wouldn’t that only apply after marriage or something? The thought of marriage didn’t even occur to me either.
How is that even handled here?
Actually, I don’t want to know… At least, not yet.
I don’t have any interest to settle down yet so while I like Amber, it wasn’t to the point that I would get down on a knee.
Wait… Do I even have to be the one to get down on a knee? Technically, we’re both girls now if we disregard the fact that I modded a dick on myself.
Fuck it, let’s just not think about it.
I noticed that Lea was giving Amber a weird look but I decided not to ask what she was thinking about.
We then reached what looked like a market district within the station. It was hard to tell since this place had buildings that looked like they were blown up right beside pristine and clean shophouses with dodgy and dirty stores mixed between them.
That’s also not to mention the fact that the streets had various mean looking thugs walking around and there was even an unconscious person or two dumped by the roadside, clearly having been beaten up recently.
I guess this was something normal around here since no one paid any attention to them.
Since we didn’t have a particular shop we were looking for in mind, we ended up just strolling down the road doing some window shopping along the way.
Naturally, we caught the attention of quite a number of people since there’s not only Amber who was especially attractive but also Lea who is not only really attractive, but also a really tall Alv.
And of course, with two girls like that walking down the street, it goes without saying that someone came to look for trouble.
“Hey pretty girls~ Are you looking for some fun–”
Amber kneed him in the balls before kicking him to the side, sending the guy who just tried to hit on her rolling away.
Ouch… She’s as ruthless as always I see.
Well, that prompted two guys to step in front of us to block our way.
“Hey! That was our friend you just–”
Amber punched him in the gut before smashing her elbow across his face, knocking him out.

The second guy widened his eyes and quickly threw up his hands in surrender just as Amber took a step towards him.
“Woah! I surrender! Don’t hurt me! They asked for it anyway!”
Amber lowered her raised fist before continuing to walk like nothing happened.
I had to step over the unconscious guy while Lea chose to walk around him instead, ignoring the last guy left from the group.
“Err… That wouldn’t cause problems now, would it?” I asked.
Amber scoffed, “They’re lucky we didn’t choose to shoot them. If they try something else, we’ll make sure they won’t bother us again permanently.”
Err… I don’t think we should just kill someone just for trying to hit on us though… In fact, I felt the way you dealt with those guys were already a tad bit excessive…
At least after a sight like that, everyone else was giving us a wide berth.
Lea leaned over to me, “Is she always that overprotective?”
Overprotective? Of what?
Before I could ask that, Amber turned back and scowled, “I heard that! I’m not overprotective, ok? I’m just the right amount of protective, ok?!”
“Ah… Yes… My apologies,” Lea answered hastily.
Amber seemed to be satisfied with her response and continued leading the way down the street.
Well, I use ‘leading’ loosely because we’re just walking down this street without a destination in mind.
Right as we passed by an alley though, a pained cry reached our ears.
I turned my gaze to look at the commotion and saw six guys in said alley where one of them was currently being beaten up by the other five.
There were other people walking through the alley as well but none of them were paying any attention to the guy that was being beaten up.
Apparently, I was the only one who took notice because Amber had gone on for a few more steps before realising I was no longer behind her and Lea had almost crashed into me when I stopped.
The two girls turned to see what I was looking at and Amber was confused.
“What is it, Tera?”
What is it? Do you not see the guy being beaten up right over there? Even you beating those two guys up got some attention so why are we all overlooking this one dude being ganged up on by five dudes?
Lea pointed at the fight, “I think Captain is looking at that.”
Amber tilted her head, “Eh? Why? What’s wrong with that? Oh, do you know someone there, Tera?”
“Err… Not really… I guess I was just amazed that something like this could happen and no one would give a shit. I guess that’s expected of a place like this huh?”
Amber shrugged, “This also happens in the previous places we’ve been in, Tera. Or did you forget that the literal first day you came to Theeve, there was a gang shootout on the street?”
Oh yeah… I actually forgot about that…
Lea frowned, “This is why I don’t like to be inside human space stations… You never know when you might get shot…”
I gasped and turned to her, “Oh no! You don’t have a personal shield, do you?!”
She blinked, “I… Do not, Captain…”
“We need to get you one then! Clothes can wait, where is the nearest store that sells personal shields?”
Amber immediately pointed to my right and I looked across the street to see a weapons store there.
That’s convenient.
I led the way towards the store and just as the doors slid open for us, two men pushed past us and rushed in first.
What the hell? It’s not like there’s a competition for who gets inside the gun store faster right? What’s the rush?
That was when I realised they were carrying guns and they went directly to the counter to point them at the owner.
“Money in the bag now! And I want all the weapons you have over there in the bag too! Hurry up!!”
Oh what the fuck? I know this place is a lawless place but I definitely did not expect to see a robbery right after witnessing a fight.
But seriously… Trying to rob a gun store? Are you asking to get shot?
I was just considering whether I should step in to help when two things popped out from the ceiling, revealing themselves to be automated turrets before riddling the two thugs with bullets without giving them a chance to react.
The owner of the store, who was a normal looking middle aged man, didn’t even flinch and just sighed before picking up a mop from under the counter.
Oh wow… For him to act like that, something like this must have happened before then.
He then noticed us standing at the door and he narrowed his eyes at us, prompting the turrets to swivel around and point their barrels at us.
As if to further threaten us, the turrets even turned on their tactical lasers so that we could see that the turrets were currently aiming at my chest.
“You friends of these two idiots?” He asked.
I couldn’t even say anything before Amber stepped forward and pointed her own pistol at the owner, “You better put away those turrets before I put a bullet in your head, you fucker.”
Amberrr!! What the fuck?!
