Chapter 320: It’s Those Thieves Again
I walked through the vaguely familiar market, looking for the terminal that I could use to list my sale.
It didn’t take me long to find it but it seems like all of the terminals were being used at the moment so I went to line up behind one to wait for my turn.
Not a minute after I queued up, a person suddenly approached me looking quite desperate.
I reached for my pistol only to remember that I was currently unarmed so I clenched my fist in preparation to swing just in case he tried to do anything.
He didn’t seem to notice my actions and asked, “Are you selling or buying?”
“I’m a seller,” I answered him curtly.
A spark of what looked like hope appeared in his eyes and he took another step forward, “Are you selling organic food?”
I paused for a moment before shaking my head, “No, I am not.”
His face immediately fell, “Ah… I see… Still no good huh…”
He then turned and walked away without another word.
I relaxed slightly as the guy walked away, only to see a group of hooded people walk towards the centre of the underground marketplace before they dropped the large boxes they were carrying on the ground.
For some reason, I feel like I’ve seen them somewhere before?
As I was trying to remember just where I had seen them before, they popped the top of the boxes open, revealing the box was full of organic food.
Almost instantly, there was a surge of movement around the market and even several of the people who had been queuing up to access the black market terminal abandoned their spot to rush towards the newcomers.
That was when I realised that those hooded people were the thieves who had tried to steal organic food back at the Palladium Star Hotel. So they actually managed to get away after all.
I guess now I know why they were going around stealing organic food… They were going to bring it here to sell to the people who were, for some reason, desperate to get their hands on organic food which drove the prices of it up.
I watched as they were practically swarmed by the crowd but it looks like this wasn’t their first time dealing with this before a number of them immediately moved to block the way of the crowd, preventing them from reaching the boxes.
“Sale of the goods will only start after there is order. Line up over here right now or else we will be stopping sales today,” One of them instructed.
The reaction was almost instantaneous as the crowd took a few steps back before they rushed to form a line at where they had pointed.
I was just about to be impressed by how they managed to control such an unruly crowd so easily when I realised that there was something sitting in between them.
It was a Border Collie sitting there watching the crowd silently.
Oh my god… So cute!
Wait… I almost forgot that animals like them are seen as extremely dangerous here… No wonder those guys were obedient…
But now I’m surprised that they let them bring a dog in here in the first place. Maybe they got special permission to do so because of the current craze with the organic food thing?
Now I feel a little glad that they didn’t use a dog to attack the hotel we were at because I don’t think I would be able to attack a dog without feeling bad afterwards…
Anyway, whatever they’re doing there is none of my business so I went to one of the now empty terminals to start listing the human organs I have for sale.
…
I never thought that I would actually say that one day…
For the moment, I checked if there were any other people selling human organs and from what I can find, the lowest price had been raised to five million Credits per box.
Although it looks like most of the sellers were only selling one or two boxes at once so it might be the reason why the price increased.

Since I’m selling in bulk, I decided to just lower the price down to four point five million Credits per box to incentivise people to purchase from me.
Tapping on the terminal, I went ahead to register myself as a seller and listed a sell order for human organs and connected my Codex as a point of contact for it.
Confirming the price of ninety million for the listing, I closed the window on the terminal and stepped away from it.
Alright~ All I need to do now is just wait for someone interested in the listing to contact me and–
My Codex let out a notification ping.
…
No way right?
I lifted up my arm and opened up the message I received, prompting a window to open up in front of me where someone had sent me a message asking me if the sale listing was still available and if they could arrange a meetup for the purchase.
I typed in an affirmative and a second later, I was getting a call from the person.
When I accepted the call, a person wearing a hood appeared on the screen.
“Hey, you’re the seller of the… Woah…”
The guy interrupted himself before he could finish his words.
That’s because he realised that he had heard his own voice which meant that I was near him.
I turned towards the organic food sellers and one of them was looking around the place until he spotted me.
Well, well… What a coincidence huh?
That’s not even the most coincidental thing though, because I very quickly realised that this was the same guy who attacked us in the kitchen as well.
Seems like he really did survive huh?
I went up to him, expecting him to attack me or maybe even curse at me, which I wasn’t really worried about since I doubt he would be dumb enough to attack me while in someone else’s territory.
He frowned at me when I got close, though he stayed silent.
I stood in front of him, also refusing to be the initiator of this conversation.
One of his colleagues noticed and nudged him, “Yo? What’s wrong?”
He jerked his chin at me, “Her crew was the one that almost screwed me up back at that hotel hit.”
The other guy widened his eyes at me, “Oh shit, that’s the chick? She’s hot though.”
The thieves who weren’t busy organising the buyers for their organic food all turned to look at me, clearly ogling at me.
I decided not to react to that and kept my eyes on the guy.
He eventually sighed and nodded at me, “Look, I don’t care about what happened back then if you don’t. Are you still selling those organs?”
I nodded, “I have them if you have the Credits.”
He turned to nod at the crowd that was queuing in front of their colleagues who were waiting to buy their organic food, “We will have it, don’t worry.”
I raised an eyebrow, “So you don’t have it now?”
“I said we will. Just give us an hour or so and we will have the money and more. Why don’t you go and prepare the boxes for us instead while we gather the Credits?”
I crossed my arms, “You want me to bring twenty boxes of organs to you when you’re not even paying me up front?”
He narrowed his eyes, “So what? You want to just wait here until we pay you before you disappear with the money?”
“I have the boxes on my ship. When you’re ready, you go over there to retrieve them and also pay me.”
Obviously I wanted the home field advantage especially when these are people whom we have come into conflict with before.
In case they want to try anything stupid like robbing me, I have Ries’s drones to back me up and the girls could also be there to help watch my back.
And even if they do intend to take revenge on us after they buy the organs from us, we could just immediately fly off right away and be long gone before they could even get back to their own ship.
He turned to look at the rest of his colleagues, a few of them either shrugging or nodding at him.
He turned back to me, “Fine. We’ll do that. Send me the location of where your ship is docked and we’ll go over to retrieve it from you with the money ready.”
I shook my head, “You tell me when you have the money ready and I’ll send you the location.”
“Fine, deal. I assume that there were no hard feelings about our last meeting?”
I raised an eyebrow, “I should be asking you that since you were the one who got your ass kicked?”
There was a snicker coming from one of the other guys but he ignored it and waved his hand at me, “Whatever… I’ll message you again once we’re done here.”
“Better hurry up though, because if someone else wants to buy it and offers a higher price, I’m not holding it for you.”
“Fair…”
He turned away from me, prompting me to leave as well.
Now I have a little bit of time… I guess I could just take the chance to do some market research here as well.
Who knows? I could get another good deal from this.
