Chapter 322: They Really, Really Want Some Organics
I tilted my body at an angle while watching the men approaching me warily.
“What do you want?” I asked, moving the hand that was out of their sight towards my pistol.
The person leading them took another step towards me, “You… You were speaking to those people…”
I frowned, “Those people? Who are you talking about?”
“Don’t lie to us! We saw you! You were there! You were at the club!!”
“Do you mean the guards at the Rattler’s club?”
“No!! You bitch! You were talking to those sellers! Those merchants! That group that was selling the organic foodstuffs!!”
“Oh, those people. Yeah, I did. So what?”
“You didn’t queue up! You didn’t queue up like the rest! You skipped the queue!!”
What the fuck is wrong with this guy? Is this guy on drugs?
Actually, don’t answer that… Because I think there’s a very high possibility that pretty much everyone here in this station is taking a drug of some sort.
I raised my free hand, still keeping the other hand out of sight for now.
“Hold on, I’m not a buyer. I did not buy any organic food from them. I am a seller. I was talking to them becau–”
“You’re also a seller?! Sell some to us right now!!” The man roared, rushing towards me with his hands outstretched to grab me.
The others also followed behind him, all of them also running towards me with their hands reaching out like zombies.
I pulled out my pistol to point at him, “Stay back!”
Despite having a gun pointed at him, he did not even slow down and continued running towards me.
Without much choice, I fired a shot at the ground in front of the leader, hoping that would stop them.
Thankfully, they actually stopped after the gunshot rang out, the leader stopping just shy of where the bullet struck the ground.
I lifted the gun to point at him, “Don’t take another step forward or the next one’s going through your face.”
He growled at me, “We’re all in this situation because you guys decided to inflate the price of organic food!”
I raised my other hand again, “I’m a seller but not an organic food seller! You didn’t even let me finish!”
The five guys blinked at me.
“Wait… You’re not… You’re not selling organic food?” He asked.
“No! I am selling something else to them!” I cried out, feeling a little pissed.
“What are you selling then?”
“Black market stuff. I don’t see why I need to tell you what though.”
“If it’s really organic food, we can pay! Please don’t sell it to the distributors! We’ll pay you the price they buy from you!”
Oof… It’s almost like they’re addicted to it for some reason…
I mean… I get that the organic food tastes better than the synthfood even if it’s prepared by a machine, but I don’t think it would result in this level of addiction, right?

That is… Unless someone fed them some drugs with it?
Something tells me that might actually be the case…
Putting that aside for now, I shook my head at the group of them, “Listen, I’m not selling organic food. Those guys wanted to trade human organs, ok? That’s what they were buying from me.”
When they heard my answer, their faces fell and I almost felt sorry for them if they hadn’t tried to attack me before this.
The leader’s hands fell to his sides and he hung his head low, “So… You… You aren’t trading in organic food?”
“I am not.”
“I… I see… Alright…”
At least he could be reasoned with I suppose…
I was just about to lower my gun when one of them perked up, “He… Hey? Isn’t like… Human organs also organic? We can take those!”
Oh my god…
I sighed, “Please don’t resort to canni–”
“Wait a minute!” Another person interrupted me before I could finish my words.
He turned to me and I could see that there was a really crazy look behind his eyes, “Why do we even need to buy them? Just chop her up! Yeah! We’ll eat her instead!”
Holy fuck, what the hell?
The other four actually started nodding their heads and turned to me, now eyeing me like a literal piece of meat.
I pulled out my shotgun with my other hand and pointed it at them, “You really want to go down this path? Because you’ll all die if you do.”
They didn’t seem to hear me as they started to mumble amongst themselves.
“Yeah… Cut her up… Those meat of hers… Gonna be tasty…”
“Eat her… Then we don’t even need to buy more… Just eat others…”
“Those thighs look really meaty… I want one…”
“Those fats on her chest… I wanna suck on them…”
“She has a meaty rear too… I call dibs on that one.”
Fuck these guys are too far gone.
Right as they started to advance on me again, I fired my pistol into the leg of the leader, hoping that would be enough to shake them out of it.
Unfortunately, the sound seemed to set them off instead as they charged towards me, all of them pulling out knives in preparation to cut me up.
Even the guy whom I shot in the leg ignored his wound to charge towards me, almost as though he didn’t even notice he was shot.
I readied myself to shoot them all down when a figure leapt out from behind them to spin above their heads and land in front of me.
The figure then thrusted both their hands out to reveal dual pistols which they used to shoot all five of them in quick succession.
None of them stood a chance as the bullets from the guns pierced through their heads and chest, killing them before they could even get close to us.
“You should have just shot them from the start, Tera,” Amber chuckled, flipping her dual pistols back into her holster.
I rolled my eyes at her, “I thought you would reach here sooner after I sent the message to you girls.”
“Oh I was already here but I was just hiding behind since it looked like you wanted to talk to them first. Otherwise I would have already shot them the moment they tried to attack you.”
I holstered my guns and looked down at the corpses, “So what do we do with them?”
Amber went over to them and started rummaging through their belongings, “What else? We loot them of course. Unless you’re asking about what to do with the bodies?”
“That’s exactly what I was asking.”
“Then we can leave them. There’s a gang fight outside anyway so they’ll think they are also a part of that fight when they’re cleaning up.”
“Who’s ‘they’?”
“The Cleaners, remember?”
“Right… I’m more surprised that this station even has Cleaners to be honest…”
Amber giggled, “These kinds of places are where they make the most money, Tera. Of course they’ll be here.”
“Where are the others though?”
“Lea and Ries are outside keeping watch. Mara on the other hand…”
“I’m here,” A voice came from above.
I looked up to see the doctor sitting on the edge of one of the smaller buildings, her legs dangling off the building.
She then leapt off from it and I rushed forward to catch her instinctively, only to realise that my worries were unfounded when she floated down instead of simply falling.
Mara giggled at my efforts but changed her flight path midair so that she still floated down towards me anyway, letting me catch her in my arms.
“Fufu~ Thank you for the catch Tera~ Unlike a certain somebody who wouldn’t care if I had fallen on the ground instead.”
Amber looked up from the dead guy she was looting, “Why don’t you shut up and make yourself useful here instead of acting all high and mighty? I didn’t see you saving Tera when those assholes were charging at her.”
She got down from my arms and nodded at the bodies, “Well, if you must know. I did help her in my own way.”
The doctor went over to one of the dead bodies and nudged it onto his back with her foot while she took out a pair of gloves from underneath her coat.
She then ripped open that guy’s shirt before pulling out a surgical knife which she used to cut open that guy’s abdomen.
“Oh no, we don’t need more organs, Mara…” I muttered.
She simply smiled at me before pulling the incision apart and sticking what looked like a syringe inside, sucking out some of the contents inside which she then injected into a vial.
She then brought up her personal terminal and used it to scan the vial before turning around to flash me a smile.
“Want to know what’s going on with these people? They’ve been ingesting White Powder without even knowing they are eating it. Want to guess what they thought was giving them their high instead of the drug?”
Oh…
See? I knew it. It was drugs!
