- Chapter 336 - Chapter 336: We Got Them
Chapter 336: We Got Them
We were guided to another room to ‘claim’ our prize.
And by prize, I meant the organic food that we were supposed to get when we gathered a hundred thousand chips.
From what I understand, they offered a single dish prepared by their in-house chef for the prize winners and apparently there’s at least a dozen or so winners everyday.
Normally, only the people who are claiming the prize are allowed to be in the room but they gave us an exception and let all of us stay together.
You might think that they were being nice but they assigned three more girls to accompany us as they were clearly expecting us to pay for them as well.
Mara basically read the manager’s mind and told me that they were expecting us to take turns sampling the organic food and the girls would seduce the ones waiting for their turn and get them to pay for their services.
Honestly, I wasn’t even surprised to hear that since I kind of guessed that the moment he suggested it… Because that’s what I would do in this scenario.
One good thing though, was the fact that they were giving us a private room for this so they don’t really have a way to monitor us outside of these girls sent to accompany us.
And these girls can easily be bought if we just give them some chips to shut them up.
Ingrid stopped in front of a door and took out the access card that the manager gave her to tap on the scanner beside it.
The door slid open without a sound and she gestured inside towards the interior, “Please wait inside, dear guests~ We will bring your prize in a while!”
We went inside the room and I realised that their ‘private room’ wasn’t so private after all…
One of the walls had been replaced by a glass wall that allowed us to look out to a specific part of the gambling den.
It seems like we weren’t the only ones as I saw a similar arrangement on the opposite end and I believe the rooms to our left and right also had this feature.
Incidentally, they had placed the dining table against the glass so that we would be on full display if we were going to be eating their organic food.
I didn’t even need to ask to know that they did this on purpose so that the people outside could see the people inside here enjoying their prize and be more motivated to try to bet more to claim it themselves.
I bet they also expect people to just have sex with the staff members here to put on a show as well and judging by the fact that there was a small crowd gathered to watch the room on our right, I’m pretty sure whoever is there was doing it right now.
Well, that had nothing to do with us since we’re really just here to check the food here.
I wasn’t expecting people to even look in our direction since we wouldn’t be doing anything aside from tasting the food but for some reason, a few guys came over the moment we sat down at the table.
“Err… Why are they looking at us?” I asked.
Amber immediately moved to hug me to her chest, “Don’t bother with them, Tera~ They’re just jealous we’re on this side of the wall!”
That… Doesn’t really seem like the case but ok?
Ingrid came over to me, “Dear customer, would you like to enjoy our services while we wait?”
Mara answered her in my stead by placing one of the boxes filled with a thousand chips on the table.
“Stand over there and don’t bother us while we’re here. Also, change the glass settings to opaque and you girls can split this amongst yourselves.”
Oh, so you could change the settings of the glass? That’s cool.
Ingrid quickly turned to look at her colleagues to bark out an order to them, prompting all of them to rush to fulfil Mara’s instructions.
The glass soon started to darken and I could see the people on the other side looking disappointed right before the glass turned into a solid black, blocking the other side from seeing us.
My attention was directed away when the door opened again and two staff members came in to place two plates in front of us, both of them giving us a small bow before leaving the room.
I looked down at the plate and I couldn’t help but blurt out, “What the fuck is this?”

In front of me was just a pile of what looked like a combination of onions, potatoes, beans, butter, chicken and what looked like… Fish? I think that’s fish…
Oh, you think that sounds ok?
Well first of all, the onion is literally just a bulb of onion that was cut in half and placed on the plate. The potatoes were not peeled and they were cut into chunks that looked like it wasn’t even cooked and just left there raw.
And I only knew there was butter because a block of it was placed right in the centre of the beans… And the beans were dry.
Then there’s the chicken which I don’t even know where to start because it looked like whoever was making this was trying to make nuggets or something but the way they did it was to crush chicken wings to try and get them into the shape of a chicken nugget.
That’s what I think the person tried to do as I looked at the crushed pieces of chicken wings with bones sticking out of it.
And then the fish…
I honestly didn’t even know that pile of mashed up white meat was fish until Ries leaned over and pointed at it.
“Can I have that, Boss?”
“… Please don’t… I’ll make you some later… This one is not worth you eating them… This one is really bad.”
She looked disappointed but more at the fact that it was supposedly bad than the fact that I rejected her.
But seriously, the fish looked like they tried to mash it as well for some reason…
In short, this thing is a fucking disaster.
Amber looked over my shoulder and frowned, “Oh wow… That looks… Really terrible…”
Lea nodded, “They didn’t peel the potatoes either…”
I could have cried right there and then. Even my girls have eaten enough of my cooking and prepared the food alongside me that they recognised what’s wrong with it without me explaining it.
I really want to just kiss them right now… Oh whatever, I went ahead to give both Amber and Lea a kiss right there, surprising both of them.
Mara pointed to the food, “Captain, is that…”
I turned back to see where she was pointing at and I realised that there were pieces of what looked like white crystals scattered over the food.
They were really small so if she hadn’t pointed it out, I might not have noticed it.
I lifted a finger and poked one of the white crystals to make it stick to my fingertip before lifting it up to my face.
Squinting my eyes at it, I thought it might be sugar or even salt crystals but… I don’t think this was the case here.
Mara pulled out a cylinder and what looked like tweezers to pick up one of the crystals to put it inside the cylinder.
She then brought up her personal terminal and tapped on it to scan the cylinder before she looked up at me with pursed lips.
“White Powder,” She said simply.
Damnit.
I turned to Ingrid and gave her the best pissed off look I could, “I want to see the chef who is in charge of making this.”
The girls who had been standing in the far corner blinked at me in unison, clearly surprised by my sudden outburst.
Ingrid quickly stepped forward and waved her hands in a placating manner, “May… May I ask what is wrong, dear guests?”
I pointed at the plates, “Everything here has not been prepared properly. I want to see just who is behind making this because this is an absolute insult to food.”
“Eh? Wait… Is… Is dear guest a chef?”
“That’s right. I want to meet your so called chef to see if they simply can’t be bothered to make this properly for us or if he actually has no idea what he’s doing.”
The girls looked at each other, obviously unsure of what to do as this might be the first time somebody complained about the food.
If you think about it, it should be obvious that no one complained if they all tasted the White Powder here. And considering where this place was, I doubt there were a lot of people who would even know how proper organic cooking looked like.
Finally, Ingrid raised a finger, “Give… Give me a minute to check with the chef, dear guest…”
I shook my head, “And give them time to hide the evidence? Not a chance. Guide us there right now.”
“Un… Understood… In that case, please follow me, dear guests.”
I guess this wasn’t a dead end after all~
