- Chapter 346 - Chapter 346: Let's See Your Work, Tyle
Chapter 346: Let’s See Your Work, Tyle
I watched the three former drug addicts in front of me with a concerned expression on my face.
I know only the woman and the last guy actually acted crazily but their actions definitely showed that they were a little unhinged.
That’s why it feels a little surreal to see all three of them obediently seated in front of me and looking completely normal instead of acting crazy like how they were moments ago.
“So… Are you still feeling some craving for organic food now?”
The woman looked up at me with serious eyes, “The only thing we are craving for is to be granted the honour of being allowed to taste your cooking again.”
Err… Ok? I don’t even know if that was a good thing or not…
I guess you could say that it’s a good thing since it’s clear that my food was able to fulfil their unconscious craving for the drug even though they didn’t even know that the craving came from the drug itself.
The thing I was worried about is whether they will relapse. It would be kind of pointless if eating my food only temporarily dealt with their addiction and they go back to being raving mad after a day or two.
That’s why… You can stop looking at me with that ‘As expected of Tera’ eyes right now, girls…
Tyle gave me a look, “I’m not gonna lie… I think if I was addicted to the drugs and I got to eat your food… I might just give up on it just to get your food.”
You’re not helping Tyle…
“Actually… Isn’t that a bad thing? They will be more dependent on my food right? What happens if I were to leave this place? They would start craving for my cooking again right?”
Tyle raised his hand, “That’s why I was hoping you could teach me how to cook and I would be able to continue your work here in saving the people!”
I sighed, “I suppose it’s better than the alternative where I just stay here for the rest of time… I fear to ask but can I see how you tried to emulate my cooking from before? Just so that I have an idea on what I’m working with?”
He grimaced, “I suppose that’s a reasonable request… But I have to tell you to temper your expectations because I really am not as good as you are…”
I gestured towards the kitchen, “We’ll see about that…”
“Ermm… My apologies?” One of the guys Amber had taken here spoke up. “Is it alright if I help out as well?”
I turned to him with a raised eyebrow, “Help out? You mean to learn from me as well?”
He nodded, “I would also like to save the others who were also affected by this. There’s others besides the three of us who have their lives ruined and I would like to do my best to save them as well. They did not deserve to live like that.”
Oh wow, that’s pretty selfless of him.
The other guy and the woman immediately chimed in, “We would like to help as well!”
That’s quite surprising… But well, I suppose if more people worked on this, there would be more possibility of success so might as well?
I gestured for all of them to follow me until I realised the girls were staying put.
“Can we… Err… Can we finish this?” Amber asked, pointing to the pot of stew that still had some stew leftover.
I shrugged, “Sure thing. Knock yourselves out.”
The girls immediately picked up their bowls and crowded around the pot while I led my four new students to the kitchens.
When we entered, I turned back to direct my attention to the three newcomers, “Any of you have cooking experience?”
All three of them shook their heads.
“Fine. All of you will stand there and watch for now. I want to see you work first, Tyle. I want you to do as you did just so that I can spot any mistakes you might have made and correct them so no need to worry about trying to do things ‘correctly’.”
He grimaced but did not protest and nodded his head once before going to the food storage to gather his ingredients.

I watched as he laid out his ingredients and he started opening them up from their packaging to lay them out on the counter.
He’s using synthfood of course, since we don’t have any organic food yet.
I stayed silent as he filled a pot with water before placing it over the burner to boil and then working on the synthmeat which he almost dumped inside the pot when he laid eyes on the sauces and condiments I had made earlier and left at the side.
He pointed at the containers, “May… May I?”
I shrugged and nodded for him to go ahead.
He placed the synthfood down and went over to the sauces to start pouring small amounts of them out into saucers so that he could taste them.
He took a few back with him and I believe he was trying to make a stew as well since he was basically following what I did except with different ingredients.
I peeked behind me to see the three of them watching Tyle carefully and one of them even took out his personal terminal to start taking notes.
It looked like they were really serious about trying to learn.
I turned my attention back to Tyle and I watched him place the synthmeat into the pot and then add more of the sauces into it.
Right then, he suddenly paused and went over to grab another pot and another identical set of ingredients which he started to prepare alongside his first batch.
I was wondering what he was doing until he dumped in the same amount of synthmeat into the second pot but this time without making use of the sauces I made first.
I raised an eyebrow, “You’re trying to see what the difference is when using the sauces I made versus not using the sauces?”
He nodded without turning back, “I want to see how much of a difference it makes. Because I may need to learn the combination for these sauces as well if the difference is really big.”
Well… I guess that made sense… The sauces and condiments I made here aren’t infinite after all so he’s going to need to learn how to make them as well.
He continued to prepare his stew and so far, I’d like to say that I didn’t see any glaring problems with what he’s doing so I think this should turn out well.
While the stew was left to simmer, he picked up one of the sauces I made and turned to me, “I… I like this one. Could you show me how it’s made? Actually… Could you show me how most of them are made? I want to learn all of them.”
“Hold on, I think we can talk business at this point. So how about we do that now?”
“Once you have finished teaching me and I start cooking for real to start this business, ninety percent of the profits will be sent to you,” He declared.
I blinked.
“Wait… Ninety percent? Are you serious?” I asked.
He nodded, “Without your guidance, this would not have been possible. I will use the remaining ten percent to grow and expand this and hopefully save the others who are also affected by this. Perhaps this would also change how the station is like down the road which I am quite confident would happen if more people tasted your food.”
I’m not so sure about that but well… I was planning on pushing this problem onto him to solve anyway so it didn’t really matter.
In fact, I would actually prefer it to work since that would not only save me the problem of needing to be here to deal with the addiction problem but I even get passive income from this as well.
Obviously I wasn’t going to say no to that.
But one question I have though…
“How do I–”
“Know that I am not cheating you of your share? I am prepared to send itemised receipts and records of my expenditures as well as start a bookkeeping record that you will be able to reference at any time. The Credits will be sent directly to you at the start of each calendar month and I will also start a company account where the remaining profits will be deposited into which will also be accessible to you,” He interrupted.
Err… I was going to ask how I would be receiving the Credits from him but I suppose he not only answered my question but also assured me that he was being serious about this.
While this is certainly nice, I suppose we should first make sure that his food is able to satisfy these people’s cravings first before we decide if we’re really going forward with this…
So let’s try out your stew first!
