Chapter 355: This Is An Escape
I groaned.

Damn… It feels like my head is ringing again… That means I most likely hit my head somewhere again…

I was expecting myself to be in a box again but surprisingly, I was not.

Instead, I seemed to have been left to lie down on a bed of what looked like a prison cell.

At least, I believe this was a prison cell since the only things in this room was a bed, four walls and a solid looking door that was no doubt locked tight.

Just in case, I went towards the door to see if it really was locked.

Unfortunately for me, it was.

I used the moment to check on myself.

Hmm… Seems like everything is still missing… They even took my Codex off my wrist as well.

At least I was still wearing my clothes so nothing happened to me I think…

Just to be sure, I checked underneath my clothes and… Ok… They didn’t violate me while I was unconscious.

I wonder what they plan to do with me then? Because from what that kidnapper was saying, they were hired to kidnap me. That means they were specifically paid to target me for some reason.

I looked around the room, wondering if there was anything I could use to break myself out of here… Or at least give me an idea of where I was.

But with no windows and only bare walls to look at, there wasn’t really much I could gather from just looking around. I even tried knocking on the doors to see if they were hollow but no luck on that front either.

I even tried the floor and ceiling but just like the walls, they were rock solid.

Hmm… So I’m a prisoner I guess?

If I had to make a wild guess about the reason for my current predicament… I’m guessing that someone somewhere heard about our plan or maybe they even realised that we were gathering people to feed them and get them off their addiction. Then they probably wanted us to stop it for some reason?

Either way, it’s most likely because they didn’t want a competitor or something.

I looked around the room again, making sure that there really was nothing at all.

The room was just big enough that the bed took up half the room and the remaining half was just barely enough for me to stand on without having to push myself against the wall.

I guess one good thing was the fact that this was a single bed which meant that I wasn’t expected to share this room with anyone in the event that I could not escape.

Naturally, I wasn’t actually planning on remaining here and I’d like to get out of here as soon as I can.

I looked around the room, trying to see if I could find something that I could just as a weapon.

There wasn’t anything on the walls so my first thought was to see if the bed could be dismantled somehow and I can use its parts as a weapon.

Unfortunately, the bed frame seemed like it was built into the floor and it was just a solid metal frame with a mattress resting on top of it.

They didn’t even give me a blanket or a pillow.

What stingy fuckers…

Speaking of which… I’ve been up for at least ten minutes now but no one has come to check on me.

I wonder if they would–

The sounds of footsteps and muffled voices came from outside the door just as I thought of that.

I moved towards the door silently and pressed myself against the door with my ear planted on it to try and listen in.

“You sure this is a good idea?”

“Of course! Did you see her boobs?! I wanna squeeze and fuck them before she gets out of our reach!”

“But… What if she fights back?”

“Pfft, didn’t you hear? The drug would knock her out for at least four hours. It’s only been like what? Two hours?”

“What about Boss? We’ll be dead if they know we messed with their merchandise…”

“Ha! You think they’ll bother coming down to check on her while she’s still unconscious? Besides, no one will know if we just keep quiet. And if anyone comes along, we’ll just tell them to join in too. Come on! You also wanna fuck her right?”

“Ye… Yeah…”

“Besides… Aren’t you the only one who has the access code to the cell? So no one would be able to come in here while we’re having fun with her!”

“Ri… Right…”

“So what are you waiting for?”

“Al… Alright, alright…”

I backed away from the door and pressed myself against the wall, trying my best to merge myself into said wall.

The melodic sound of a digital keypad being tapped could be heard and the unmistakable sound of the door’s lock sliding open came from the door itself.

I pushed myself further back right as the door slid open and two men walked in.

The first guy who stepped in immediately stopped when he saw the empty bed.

“What?”

That was all he managed to say before my elbow came flying and knocked against his jaw, sending the guy crashing against the other wall and knocking him out.

The other guy behind him was just looking at his colleague with a dumbfounded expression so he was definitely not ready when my fist came from below to deliver an uppercut to his chin.

I did not relax yet as I looked beyond the door, my fists ready to fly again just in case there was a third person behind.

Fortunately, there was only two of them and the corridor outside was blessedly empty.

I peeked my head outside and it looked like I was in some kind of apartment complex or something instead of a prison since there were numerous doors down both sides of the corridor.

Then again, this might just be how the prisons look like on this station or the thugs here just refurnished the place.

Putting that aside for now, I dragged the second guy’s body inside the room and dumped both of them on the bed.

I then went ahead to relieve them both of their weapons which gave me an assault rifle with three spare magazines and a pistol with a similar number of spare magazines.

I had to also take one of their vests off in order to store my newly acquired loot but if these guys don’t have a uniform… The vest might tag me as one of them if they see me from a distance.

And judging by how both of them seemed to be wearing completely different clothes and the only similar thing about them were the vests they were wearing, I think this might be their only indication of being in the same gang.

That is, of course, assuming they don’t already know everyone inside the gang by their looks.

Unfortunately, neither of them had personal shields and the thugs had taken mine off when I was unconscious so I would have to be careful not to get shot.

I thought about just killing the both of them right now but decided against it since the sound of a gunshot might alert everyone and it’ll be better for me if no one else knows that I had managed to escape for as long as possible.

I stepped out of the room and turned to look for a keypad to lock the door, only to realise that there weren’t any.

Ah… They probably opened it using their own personal terminals then.

I went back inside and found their personal terminals and activated them to find the one that was used to control the door.

With that in hand, I stepped out into the corridor once again and locked the door behind me.

I then tried to see if there was a map on his personal terminal but unfortunately, there wasn’t any.

That means I’m going to need to find my way out of here on my own…

Fine, whatever.

Since I don’t have my codex with me, I decided to just take this guy’s personal terminal with me and stored it in my newly acquired vest for now.

As much as I would like to call Amber and the others to tell them of my current predicament… I did not have their contacts saved here so I can’t call any of them.

But I’m pretty sure Tyle already knows that I was planning to just go and retrieve something from our ship so the fact that I was already gone for at least six hours might have told him that something was wrong.

Even if he didn’t, Amber and the others would definitely question him about it and they would figure out that something happened to me when they could not call me and I was not back from the ship yet.

The question is if they would even know where I am so I won’t be depending on the probability of someone coming to save me.

Guess this is a solo extraction event for me.
