Chapter 359: Got Some Big Guns In Here
The elevator made a ding sound as it reached my floor, taking a little longer than I liked to reach there.
Just in case, I wasn’t standing in the centre of the elevator but hid myself in the corner on top of a few corpses.
That turned out to be the right choice as the moment the doors opened, someone was waiting there with a shotgun pointed right at the door.
When the thug saw the dead bodies inside, he gaped before turning away to dry heave at the sight of the corpses.
Huh… I thought that thugs like them would be used to the sight of corpses.
Actually… I’m surprised that this wasn’t bothering me much despite me literally laying down on top of one.
I guess my adrenaline was still pumping so I didn’t even notice…
“What the fuck’s wrong with you?” Someone outside asked.
“Ughhhh… Look… Look for yourself…”
I waited for a moment and another thug came around the corner and saw the interior of the lift.
He had a similar reaction where he covered his mouth with his hand and turned away to start dry heaving in the corner.
I pulled out two knives that I scavenged from one of the dead thugs and crept out of the elevator.
The two thugs had their backs to me and did not notice me until I leapt on top of one of them and stabbed the knife into his neck and sliced it open.
The other thug turned and his eyes widened in shock, not because he saw me kill his colleague but because he saw my other knife flying straight towards his face.
The knife ended up embedding itself into his left eye before I rushed forward and stabbed the other knife under his chin.
He gurgled and his eyes rolled to the back of his head, his body going limp.
I used him as a shield to check around the room for any more enemies but it seems like these two were the only ones on this floor.
That was when I realised that this floor was different from the rest.
Instead of a corridor leading towards the right where the individual rooms could be found, they had broken down the walls and turned this into a storeroom.
And the lift lobby had also been converted to some kind of security checkpoint with the two people I had killed supposedly being the guards.
I could tell because there was a security door leading towards the stairwell which was certainly different from the normal doors I’ve seen in this building so far.
Funny how this lift allowed you to bypass the door though so the door feels a little pointless if you ask me…
I walked past the checkpoint and entered the storeroom, my first thought being to locate my stuff.
There were a whole bunch of crates and when I started opening them, I realised that this wasn’t a storeroom at all… This place is an armoury.
Every single thing in here was a weapon, ammunition or some other type of armament including several boxes full of grenades.
The only thing missing here is a power armour suit which was unfortunate to say the least.
The bad thing was that I don’t see my stuff here at all and I checked every single box to make sure they didn’t just stash it in one of them and hid it under another box.
I’m guessing someone else either took it or they are keeping it somewhere else.
However, there’s at least some good news though.
I opened one of the bigger boxes and guess what I found?

A light machine gun with an ammo belt attached to a backpack.
Hell yeah I’m taking this.
That’s not all, I also found that the backpack had a shield slot that you could slot inside to use it as an additional overshield on top of your personal one, so even if the machine gun was going to slow me down because of the weight, I’ll still be a walking tank.
And as if that wasn’t enough, there was a magnetic attachment that allowed you to attach another gun as a backup weapon in case you have to ditch the light machine gun.
I took that out of the box and then checked my equipment quickly since I didn’t really want to spend too much time here lest the thugs outside would have realised the firefight upstairs had died down and might go and check to realise I’m not there anymore.
Ok, one light machine gun, one energy rifle, two ballistic pistols, four knives, four grenades and two shields.
Good enough, let’s get going now.
Oh, I’m not abandoning the rest of this stuff, I’m definitely coming back for this, especially since they were so nice in bringing me here to take it off their hands in the first place.
I went over to the door and found the door release controls, hitting the button to disengage the locks and allowing it to slide open with a soft hiss.
I was standing behind the door with the machine gun raised in case someone heard the noise and came to check but surprisingly, that didn’t happen.
Then I realise the sound of the door opening was drowned out by a heated argument happening outside at the moment.
“I said you go and check you fucking coward!”
“If I’m such a fucking coward, why don’t you go check it, huh?!”
“I’m manning the gun aren’t I?! You have the fucking shotgun! If she’s there just blast her with it!”
“Oh yeah, sure. And if she happens to be there, you’re just going to gun me down with her, aren’t you?!”
“Will you two shut up already?! Holy crap! The shooting has already stopped! I bet they incapacitated her already and they’re probably taking out their frustrations with her. You’re not seriously telling me that she managed to take down all those people, are you?”
I took out one of my grenades and stalked towards the stair landing, peeking around it to see what I was dealing with.
Hmm… There’s eight of them, most of them gathered around a heavy machine gun emplacement with three thugs currently locked in a heated argument.
Judging by the state of the fortifications here, I think this was already here to begin with instead of them setting it up specifically for me.
I guess considering the fact that I know this floor was their armoury, they intended this place to be a last stand or something in case of a rival gang attack.
Maybe that’s why they only have one elevator since they would be able to disable it easily should they need to secure this location.
Either way, I don’t really care since I’m going to do this next~
I activated the grenade and rolled it towards the group of thugs that were still in the middle of arguing.
The grenade rolled all the way until it bumped into one of the thug’s foot, prompting him to look down to see what it was.
I got to watch his face turn white as he realised what it was and his mouth opening up to shout a warning.
“Gre–”
Boom~
The four guys closest to the grenade got blasted apart from the explosion and the heavy machine gun also ended up getting shredded to pieces by the shrapnel.
The other four who were a little bit further got sent flying back to crash near the doorway I was standing at.
I stepped out from the doorway and took a second to look around.
Out of the four remaining, one was already beyond saving since a shrapnel pierced through his throat and chest and he was currently drowning in his own blood.
One of them was screaming out in pain when the pain of his broken limbs hit him so I silenced him with a quick shot from my machine gun.
The other two managed to survive the blast with some cuts and bruises, one of them trying to reach for his weapon that he had dropped.
I went ahead to kick him in the face, sending him falling on his back and away from his weapon before I levelled my machine gun at him while pulling out my pistol to point it at the other guy.
Both thugs froze when they saw me and I made sure I got their complete attention before I asked, “Where’s my stuff?”
The two thugs looked at one another before turning back to me.
“What… What stuff?” One of them asked.
“My guns, my shield, my knife and my personal terminal.”
“I… I don’t know.”
I pulled the trigger, killing the thug who claimed he didn’t know.
I turned to the other thug, “Where’s my stuff?”
“Ahhhh!! Fuck!! The… The boss has it!! He’s downstairs! He’s been trying to crack your personal terminal, ok?! That’s all I know!”
“Thanks,” I told him, right before I pulled the trigger.
What? You thought I was going to let him live?
Nah, I’m killing everyone in this building.
Otherwise, how am I supposed to come back here to claim all the loot?
