Chapter 365: They Went To Count
Now that my adrenaline has worn off, I can see why those thugs almost threw up after seeing the situation inside the lift.

Actually… I don’t really think it’s that bad… They’re not even rotting corpses yet so it was just filled with the acidic smell of blood.

It’s probably just because there’s a literal pile of corpses in an enclosed space which makes it look more disgusting than it actually is.

I didn’t even think about it but I had been laying on top of that earlier…

The girls all turned back to look at me since they knew they weren’t the ones who did this.

I shrugged, “They tried to ambush me from the lift but I was waiting in front of it so… Yeah… I just went ahead to dump a whole mag into it.”

They turned back to look at the lift again before looking back at me.

“How many people did you actually kill to get here, Tera?” Amber asked.

“I dunno? I wasn’t keeping count since… You know… I was more focused on shooting everyone to escape from here.”

Ries peered into the lift and looked at the control panel where all the buttons to choose the floors were.

“Boss… You fought through twenty floors of people?”

“Err… I guess? But it’s not like every floor had a fight though. There were several floors where I had met with no resistance. Probably because they were setting up a trap for me or something.”

“No wait… You did this alone, Captain. While you had been stripped of any gear,” Mara pointed out.

“Well… I did get some gear from the people I knocked out and it’s not like I had a choice right?”

Amber turned to me and looked me up and down before licking her lips, “Have I said you’re hot, Tera? Because I think you’re really, really hot. Could I kiss you?”

Well whatever…

I pulled her in and gave her a kiss on the lips, my lover moaning into my mouth as our tongues intertwined.

Obviously, that led to the other three wanting their turn too so I went ahead to kiss Lea, Ries and Mara in that order.

Then we had to do the dirty work of dragging the corpses out from the lift to make space for us and the stuff we would be taking.

We weren’t going to scrub the lift clean so we’ll just have to put up with the smell of the blood in the lift as we rode it up to the fifteenth floor.

The place was just as I left it and the girls eyed the two dead men on the ground.

“Knife wounds… You cut them up, Tera?” Amber asked.

Why does it look like you girls are inspecting each of my kills with such interest?

I nodded, “They were distracted by the corpses in the lift so I went ahead to just slice their necks open.”

The girls nodded but they still seemed to be really interested in the dead bodies for some reason.

I coughed to get their attention and gestured to the weapons that were in the storeroom, “I think… We can start gathering the stuff? Though… How are we supposed to bring them all out of here though?”

Amber raised her hand quickly, “I’ll go look around outside! They must have some transporter drones around that we can use!”

Lea stepped forward, “I will help as well.”

Ries also leapt forward, “I’ll go look for one too! Maybe I can make one from spare parts if they have some!”

Mara also joined them, “I suppose I should follow along just to see if there are any survivors who might still be hiding nearby. Just in case.”

Err… That’s everyone, isn’t it? I guess it’s easier and safer for everyone to go together since this place has been cleared of enemies.

I shrugged, “Alright then. I’ll just do an inventory of the storeroom here and we can arrange it on the transport drones later if you find any.”

Amber stepped up and gave me another kiss, “You’re the best, Tera! I love you!”

Err… Ok? Not sure what that was for but I kissed her back anyway.

She then ran out of the room without waiting for a response, only to stop when she saw the dead bodies outside.

“Wow… You really did a lot, Tera…”

“That’s nothing. There’s more of them upstairs,” I said offhandedly.

All the girls shared another look which really made me suspect they were somehow having a telepathic conversation somehow.

The four of them then left the storeroom and went for the stairs, presumably to search for the transport drones that we could use to transport all this stuff.

I still remember what some of them contained so I went over to those first and started from there, noting down the stuff each box contained on my Codex.

There were rifles, pistols and shotguns with box loads of ammunition including several crates of grenades as well.

It almost looks like they were trying to supply a small army with how much firepower they have in here.

I went once around the storeroom and completed my inventory of the storeroom but… The girls have not returned yet…

I guess they were having a hard time finding the transport drones?

Since they weren’t back yet, I guess I can start moving some stuff first so that when they eventually come back with it, it would be easier to move them.

Even if they couldn’t find any, we could just go back to our ship and get our own drones to move these things away.

But after I moved about a dozen boxes, I felt that the amount of time they took to find the drones was a little too long for my liking.

Did something happen to them? Don’t tell me this time they were the ones that got kidnapped?

I took up my shotgun and snuck towards the door, peeking around the corner to see if there were anyone there.

Seeing that everything was silent, I went towards the stairs to creep up the steps, keeping my eyes and ears out for any signs of conflict.

I was just about to turn around the corner when I heard voices coming from the floor above.

I paused and tried to eavesdrop on the voices.

“That’s… I counted twenty that way.”

“Fifteen here.”

“I’m not really sure about mine since they looked like they got blown up… But I would guess at least twenty as well.”

“I was counting the ones in the lift and that was thirteen.”

“Tera really did all this herself huh?”

“Are you surprised?”

“Pfft~ I know that Tera is already awesome! But I’m just upset that we missed this! Is there security cameras somewhere that recorded this?! I want it!”

“We can try to check the security room we went past just now.”

Wait, there was a security room? Where?

Ries’s voice then came from around the corner again, “Umm… I think we should go back to Boss soon… We’ve been away for quite a bit, haven’t we?”

There was a chorus of agreements coming from the other girls and I quickly snuck back down the stairs instead, not willing to let them know that I had just eavesdropped on them.

I quickly snuck back into the store room and pretended to be busy by moving around some boxes right as the girls entered the room.

“Tera? What are you doing?” Amber asked.

I pretended to be surprised by their presence, “Oh! Didn’t see you girls there. Just thought I would arrange the boxes so that it would be easier to load them up onto the transport drones after you girls came back with them. So did you get any?”

Their faces suddenly changed and I realised it was the look of guilt.

Wait… Did they really spend that entire time counting and inspecting my kills? Oh come on… At least go find the drones first before you girls do that…

Amber quickly came forward and hugged my arm, “Tera! We shouldn’t even be letting you do this! You should be resting instead of doing such manual labour! Why don’t I escort you back to the ship for you to take a rest and we’ll handle things here? I’ll bring our own transport drones over to bring this back to the ship!”

Lea, Mara and Ries also nodded their heads in agreement quickly, probably also feeling guilty that they just made me work by moving all this stuff by myself while they were off doing something else.

Hmph… I’ll just give them the final nail by tapping on my Codex and sending them a message.

“There… I also went to take inventory of the stuff here so it’ll be easier for us to sell them off later. Everything’s recorded there as well as which boxes they belong to so it should be easy to understand.”

Ok, now I feel a little bad especially because Ries’s ears even drooped a little.

I guess I’ll just stop here then.
