Chapter 398: They’re Calling Me Goddess Now
Ok… So I kind of figured out that maybe the traits I had picked during character creation is actually affecting me in this life right now.
There’s just one problem though… I don’t remember all the traits I had picked for myself when I was creating my character…
Hey… You really can’t blame me for this one… I had literally made this character thinking that this playthrough was just going to be me testing out the new mod I downloaded for the game so I just picked all the new traits I could to see what it did… I wasn’t even really paying attention to the names of the traits aside from making sure that they were traits or perks added by the mod before adding them to the character…
At least so far, things have been working out pretty well for me right? So of course I wasn’t going to question it…
Wait a minute… If the traits and perks really work like that… Why did it not work when I had pressed the button the first time Ries had set the parameters?
Hmm… I suppose it must mean that there’s some kind of rule or requirement involved before the trait or perk is activated or goes into effect?
That could mean that there might be some other traits or perks that I have yet to experience the effects of because I have not met or fulfilled the requirements to activate them.
This is a little concerning because the traits and perks selection for the character creator operates on a point system which means that perks and traits that were generally positive would cost points for you to select while negative versions of them would give you extra points.
So in order for me to take all the perks and traits that I did, I needed to take some of the supposed negative traits too… And the negative traits from the mod were also just as ambiguous as the positive ones which made me unsure of what they actually did…
Like one of the only supposed negative traits I remembered picking was… Err… What was the name of it again? Something like ‘Love To The Extreme’ or something along those lines.
I don’t even remember what the flavour text was because all it said was something about extreme lovers or extreme love which made no sense at all so I just didn’t think about it and added it to the list.
Ugghh… My regret for not taking the character creator seriously just intensified… Why couldn’t a window pop up to tell me something like ‘You will wake up as this character that you created once you are done’.
If they had told me about this, I would have made this character more seriously!!
Too bad that there’s no way to check my own stats and I had also tried to look for a character or stats menu in the Codex but there was no such thing in there either.
Oh well… No use crying about it I guess… I’ll just have to make do with what I currently have and it looks like everything’s working well for me so far so I’m not going to be ungrateful and complain about it.
Putting that unfortunate thing aside for now… I was finally done with the condiments and sauces I wanted to give Tyle for use in that restaurant.
It took a little longer than I had expected since I had some issues trying to come up with the last sauce. The issue being that I got dragged by the girls to have a bath with them and we ended up just doing it until the next morning.
In the end, I only finished it in the morning and delivered the boxes to the Guild.
The people there were being really dramatic about it and it seems like the ‘Goddess’ title stuck and everyone there started referring to me by it.
That’s why I didn’t stick around and quickly left as soon as I delivered the stuff, which the girls found amusing to no end.
No… Please don’t start calling me ‘Goddess’ as well…

I checked the ship console to make sure that all our ammunition was properly restocked when Amber walked onto the bridge.
“Oh, hey Amber. Are our supplies here yet?” I asked.
She grinned at me, “Ries is loading them up into the cargo bay right now. We should be able to set off in a few more hours, Goddess Tera~”
“No… Not you too… I swear they’re doing it because they think it’s funny…”
“Oh, I actually believe they are completely genuine in their address of you, Tera. I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually built a shrine for you.”
“Are people even religious here? I would have thought with all the space travelling and stuff, people wouldn’t be religious anymore…”
“Oh you have no idea~ There are still people who have religious beliefs around and there’s a lot of different religions too. Although admittedly they are fewer in number in the outer colonies since everyone’s too busy surviving and being pragmatic to bother about some beliefs that may or may not help them.”
“So they’re more common in the inner colonies?”

“Yep~ But the religious ones in the outer colonies are worse though. They’re zealots. In the sense that you are either with them or against them and they’d do anything in the name of their own beliefs including ritual sacrifices. It’s really the other end of the spectrum out here where the people can be really insane because this place just sucks.”
Well… I guess I can understand that…
When people are at their lowest, they might just cling to something hoping that it would change their situation even if it’s something they might not even believe in at first.
Guess I’ll just have to be careful not to meet any of those zealots…
“Right, so what are you doing here? I don’t think you just came here to tell me about the cargo bay situation, right?” I asked.
“Ehehe~ I just missed you, Tera~ I’m here to have my fill of Teranium~” She giggled, running up to hug me.
I rolled my eyes but didn’t try to stop her while she snuggled against me, “Right… What about Mara and Lea? What are they up to now?”
Amber thought for a moment, “Mmm… Mara’s also helping Ries sort through the supplies since she also got some medical supplies for our infirmary and her gene modding stuff. I’m not too sure about Lea but I think she’s in the hydroponics room?”
Hmm… It’s been a while since I last checked on the farm and since I’m pretty much done with the final checks, I might as well take a look at how she’s doing.
“I’ll go take a look. You coming?” I asked, standing up from the Captain’s chair.
She waved at me, “Ah, it’s ok. I really just came here to recharge myself. I also got some supplies for my ship and I need to sort them out with Ries as well.”
Alright then…
Both of us left the bridge and while Amber turned down the corridor to head towards the cargo bay, I went to the hydroponics room instead.
When the door slid open and I stepped inside, the sound of Lea humming a tune reached my ears.
I turned towards the source of the sound and found the Alv completely in the nude and seemingly dancing through the rows of plants that were growing in her hydroponics garden.
At first I thought she was just enjoying the nature around her or whatever Alvs might do. But then I realised that the plants were swaying in tune with her movements and it seemed like they were even growing upwards visibly.
Lea did another spin and the sprouts of leaves also spun to imitate her, which clearly meant that she was using her ability to manipulate the plants right now.
She stopped when she saw me and straightened herself to smile at me, “Mistress. Is there anything you need?”
“I just wanted to check in on the garden. How is everything so far?”
“Everything is growing well, Mistress. If there is a specific vegetable that you would like to grow faster, just let me know and I would accelerate its growth for you.”
“Mmm… I don’t need anything right now so there’s no need for that. I do want to ask something though…”
She tilted her head at me, “What is it, Mistress?”
I turned to look at the other half of the hydroponics room that was still left empty, “Do you think we could rear some animals or something on board? Seems like we might have space for it… Like maybe chickens or something, I dunno.”
“Hmm… It is possible, Mistress… But we would most likely only be able to find domesticated animals in the inner colonies. Unless it’s one of the harvest based planets which I guess there’s still a possibility of that.”
“Oh, do you know such a place?”
“I do… But they’re all Alvian planets… Which is quite far from where we are now… Perhaps the others might know of another one.”
I see… Well that’s still a possibility then.
Anyway, first things first, we should be preparing to set off for that station soon.
