Chapter 418: Did She Class Change?
I thought I might have been mistaken or something but she was indeed on fire. Heck, it looks as though fire was even coming out of her suit somehow.
Most of the fire was gathered around her hands and it was clearly burning the lizard’s tail at where she was holding it.
The lizard let out a roar of pain and tried to shake her off by swinging its tail to the side.
I couldn’t help but let out a gasp when I saw Amber being smashed into the wall while still holding its tail.
Just as I was going to rush towards her, I realised that she was completely fine and was still holding on to the lizard’s tail while burning it with the fire.
In fact… Looking at the wall, I realised that the shape of the indent from Amber being smashed into it was as if an orb had smashed into it.
By that, I meant like the wall had caved inwards in a perfectly circular shape and instead of the wall being smashed apart, I seemed to have been reshaped to hold that form instead.
Realising that Amber was still holding onto its tail, the lizard swung its tail towards the other wall to try and smash her again.
This time, since I was already looking for it, I got to see the wall cave in before Amber reached it, almost like something invisible was pushing it in.
Amber then stopped just a short distance before hitting the wall and remained where she was, still holding on to that lizard tail while glaring at the monster.
“ARRRGGHHHHH!!” She screamed, pulling the monster back and swinging it around and away from me with her acting as the pivot.
The monster smashed into the wall that was right behind Amber, crashing through it to end up inside the room that was behind it.
Surprisingly, Amber did not let go and pulled it back out of the hole to throw it at the wall on the other side, smashing it through.
“You piece of shiiiiiiitttt!!!” She screamed, probably forgetting that our comms were still on.
Fire shot out from her palms as she propelled herself through the hole that the monster had made after smashing through that wall.
Err… Ok… Let’s back up a little… A lot of things seem to be happening all at once…
So let me just confirm what just happened…
The lizard almost bit me in half, then Amber pulled it back while being on fire… And she shot out fire from her palms…
AMBER SHOT OUT FIRE FROM HER PALMS?!
Wait, wait, wait… Calm down… This is a futuristic universe after all… There’s gene and cyber mods that people can give themselves…
Like yeah… People can mod themselves to have a grenade launcher and blades that can slice through metal pop out from their arms, make themselves turn invisible, turn themselves into a centaur, make themselves taller, shorter, bigger, smaller and even add additional body parts too… So what’s strange about shooting fire out of their palms right? That’s perfectly normal!
Amber must have also modded herself to be able to… Wait a minute… I think I remember something along the lines of Amber not having any mods right?
Then… How?
I activated my suit’s thrusters to fly over to the hole and peeked inside.
The lights were still out but it was no longer a problem because the fire from Amber was illuminating the room quite clearly so I had no trouble recognising that this room was some kind of cafeteria.
The lizard was at one corner of the room while Amber was floating at the centre of the room, fire still raging around her like she was an angry goddess.
I just want to say… Amber looks hot… And it’s not just because of the fire either.
The lizard managed to right itself and turned to face Amber with a threatening growl, recognising her as a threat.
The tip of its tail was obviously burned pretty badly since it was now completely charred and even bits of it was flaking off.
It reared its head back before letting out another roar, this one being the roar that had blasted us away earlier.

Amber raised her hands and the fire around her converged in front to create a shield of fire.
Something blasted against the fire shield and dispersed it but Amber spun her hands in a circle and the dispersed fire quickly gathered back around her while not moving a single inch from where she was.
She then spun her hands one more time and the fire around her gathered into a ball in front of her.
Wait… Is she going to…
She thrusted both her palms forward and the ball of fire was shot towards the lizard at blinding speed.
Ahhhh! She really did! She really ‘cast’ a fireball! That is so cool!
The fireball exploded against the head of the lizard, the force of the explosion enough to launch it backwards to crash against the wall.
The attack did not seem to have done much damage aside from stunning the monster, leaving it dazed and disorientated.
Amber did not seem surprised by this as she was already gathering another ball of fire in front of her, this one at least twice as big as the previous one that she shot at the lizard.
Right as the monster shook its head to recover its senses, Amber also threw the fireball at it without mercy.
The giant ball of fire that was at least the size of three men flew towards the lizard, exploding once again in its face.
This time, instead of just dazing it, the fireball did quite a bit of damage as it took out a large chunk of its head and parts of its body, even charring the surrounding scales of the impact zone.
What was surprising, however, was that the monster was still alive.
I slammed one of its claws on the ground, crushing some of the tables underneath its foot while causing the rest of the room to quake from the impact.
The broken pieces of the table then floated up before shooting towards Amber.
My blonde haired lover swung her arm up in an arc which created a small wall of fire in front of her once more, protecting her from the improvised projectiles that were shot at her.
Without a hint of fear, she floated closer to the lizard that was still shooting the pieces of debris at her.
When she got within a few feet of it, she punched her left fist out at the fire wall, blasting a flamethrower at the monster and bathing it in a gout of flames.
The scream that came from the monster while it was being burned shattered the glass in the room and it even felt like it was shaking the whole station.
Despite that, Amber didn’t stop and continued blasting out that flamethrower with her hands, the heat from the flames enough to even melt the tables in the vicinity of that monster.
The monster’s screams slowly got softer and softer before finally disappearing.
Amber still kept the flames going for about a minute more before she finally killed the fire, letting the fire dissipate.
Where the monster once sat was now nothing but a semi melted floor that was charred black. Not even a single scale remained of that huge monster.
I was expecting that maybe it might leave behind a Psionic Crystal or something but there was really nothing left of it.
I could hear Amber breathing hard through the comms, almost like she had just ran a marathon.
But for some reason, I kind of knew that she wasn’t tired but was just trying to calm herself down.
She then sucked in a deep breath before breathing out, finally getting her breathing back under control.
Slowly, she turned back to face me, a clearly guilty look on her face.
“I’m sorry, Tera…” She apologised, floating down towards me.
I felt my heart sink and I quickly went up to grab her by her arms, “What?! What’s going on?! You’re not going to tell me that you’re going to die are you?! IS this some kind of ability that burns your life force or something?! What’s wrong?!”
“Eh? Ah… Umm… Don’t… Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’m just… Apologising for keeping this a secret…”
I stopped and stared at her for a good minute before frowning, “What? That’s it? I was expecting there to be something more than that.”
“I… I mean… I kept this as a secret from you, Tera… I shouldn’t have… Aren’t you angry?”
“Amber, you just saved my life. If it wasn’t because of this helmet I would be kissing you right now. But it sounds like this matter is a complicated one, isn’t it?”
She nodded her head quickly.
I shrugged, “Then in that case, we can have a long talk about it back on the ship. So let’s just focus on going back for now, ok?”
Amber nodded and I held her hand before guiding us towards the exit of the cafeteria.
This trip certainly turned out interesting…
