Chapter 431: Foundry Systems
The girls had brought back even more plants that they found and Lea was in the midst of cultivating them with her power to make them grow quickly.
But as she had mentioned, it needed a lot of power from her so I ended up needing to ‘recharge’ her twice.
I’m pretty sure she was just horny because after having the desserts, I went two rounds with each of the girls so she definitely had enough energy to do it but I guess it just made her horny so she used that as an excuse instead.
Most of the plants they brought back ended up being the same but there were some new ones.
One of them was peaches which looked more like rambutans with the hairy exterior but you can eat it with the skin after trimming away those ‘hairs’.
The other was a surprise as I found out there were actually bananas.
Well… Not exactly… It’s definitely different from the bananas I know but the taste and texture of it was definitely similar to bananas.
Instead of the long, rod shape that I was more familiar with, the ‘bananas’ we found here came in a donut shape instead. Like it naturally grows out to become a circle with a hole in the middle and apparently, the skin is really thin to the point that you can eat it as well.
The skin kind of has a crunchy texture and tastes like caramelised sugar, which gave me some ideas of how to make use of them too.
I guess this planet ended up providing a lot of ingredients for sweet making. And if I could figure out how to ferment those grapes as well… I could even make wines and even fruit wines too.
This is a pretty good haul on its own and I still got myself the Psionic Shadow that is attached to my finger spewing out a Psionic Crystal daily.
Yep, it seems like it would give us a Psionic Crystal everyday so this was already passive income for us.
The money making potential is so big that I’m starting to get a little worried.
Is it even alright to have all this?
You know what? Let’s not think about it too much…
Anyway, I think we’ve spent enough time on this planet already so I decided to give the command to set out.
I have a feeling we might still come back to this planet one day, especially since the girls really liked the meat from those cow-like beasts.
Right now, our destination was the trade station where the pirates have supposedly set up their base.
It’s going to take several jumps for us to reach there and we plan to make a few stops along the way, both to stock up on supplies and another to sell what we had looted.
And if we find any profitable jobs to do along the way, I wouldn’t say no either.
Besides, there’s no such thing as too much money, right? And we still have plans to expand the scope of our operations so we still need more Credits for that.
Not to mention the fact that doing more missions would also raise our Merc rank which would give us access to better paying jobs so there’s no downsides to this.
We left the planet and made our way back to the Natural Space Highway to get back to the system with the research station.
There, we got to see how big of a destruction the explosion caused to the station.
But there came the first surprise, instead of a debris field that I expected to see from a big explosion, what I got was what appeared to be a lump of fused metal floating around in space.
“It wasn’t an explosion…” Ries mused when she saw the sight of that twisted metal. “It was an implosion instead… And judging by the way the metal is twisted… It was a really powerful implosion too. I’m surprised that it didn’t create a black hole. Or maybe it did and it got cancelled out somehow?”
Not gonna lie, that last part was a little scary… Like knowing that they could create a black hole and destroy it just like that…
Then again, considering the fact that they were able to make artificial Psionics, how hard is it to make artificial black holes, right?
Yeah… I’m just going to stop thinking about it now…
We left the destroyed remains of the station behind and flew to the next system, skipping past this one in favour of the next system.

The reason being that we wanted to leave a buffer between that research system and ourselves in case there were military spies or scouts that were still keeping an eye around that location and might realise we had gone there if they saw us selling military grade stuff nearby.
In the next system, it seems like it was a Foundry type system which meant that the system primarily focuses on industry or manufacturing.
This one in particular, which was aptly named Otaras system, had an O-type star which made humans construct an energy harvesting station in its orbit as well as an energy processing station where they would manufacture energy cells and transport them throughout the rest of the system.
While the harvesting station restricted access to staff that were working there, the energy processing station was open to the public and there was even a Guild stationed there.
Incidentally, the workers don’t live on the harvesting station but commute there from the processing station instead. Something about being too close to the sun and radiation or something.
Apparently because they also sell energy cells directly there for cheaper than the normal market price so sometimes people would travel there just to take advantage of that.
We decided to make a stop there and see if we could at least sell off some of the loot we got there while also restocking some of our supplies.
I also intended to check if there were any news about this pirate group or even any notable pirate activity that we could pay attention to just to see if there was something else we needed to take note of.
Our ship approached the station and I made the request for permission to dock.
I immediately received a call request coming from the station so I tapped on the answer button on my screen to see what they wanted.
A projection of a uniformed guard appeared in front of me, the man nodding at me in greeting.
“Hello there, we received your docking request. Are you here to buy energy cells or are you here for other purposes?”
“We are looking to buy some, yes,” I answered.
“And will you be buying them in bulk to sell or is it only for personal use?”
“Personal use.”
“In that case, since your ship is a C Class ship and we have limited docking slots, you will either need to board our station with a smaller Class ship or be restricted to only dock with the station for six hours. Would that be fine with you?”
I looked at the girls who showed that they would leave the decision to me so I turned back to the officer.
“We have a B Class Heavy Fighter that we can use to board your station.”
“Perfect then. Proceed to the hangar bay, docking port seven. You are free to use it for a day but more than that and you would be subjected to a two hundred Credit charge for parking fees, is that acceptable?”
We’re not really planning on staying for long and we can always just take the Verlandi back to the main ship to spend the ‘night’ before returning back to the station if we need to stay here for longer than a day.
I agreed to his terms and the connection shut off.
“Someone will need to stay behind and watch the ship though,” Amber pointed out.
Mara immediately turned to me, “I will stay. There’s nothing for me in the station anyway.”
Ries also turned around from her pilot seat to raise her hand, “I’ll stay too, Boss! I still want to work on assembling the power armour!”
I then turned to Amber and Lea, “What about you two?”
“Ehehe~ Of course I’ll go with you, Tera!”
“I will follow along as well, Mistress.”
I guess that’s decided then.
We’re just going to bring some loot there to sell, buy some supplies, listen to some gossip, maybe gather some intelligence about that pirate group and then see if there’s any good quests from the Guild that we could do that doesn’t involve us staying here for an extended amount of time.
Then we should be heading out again by tomorrow and that should conclude our business in this system.
I’m not really expecting to be able to gain much from this system since this isn’t really a dedicated trade station so their resources are limited.
Guess we’ll just take what we can get here.
