Chapter 506: Android Bouncers
The club was officially opened for business and the interior got crowded really fast.

It seems like the person at the door was intentionally controlling the flow at the start so that the bartenders could serve the customers without being overwhelmed.

But now the place was already packed and the partying in the club was in full swing with the DJ having the crowd bopping to the music they were playing.

Since I already know that it was an android, I have to say that it was doing a pretty good job.

Hmm… It? She? I guess it’s a she since she was made with a female figure, though I’m not sure if that body has any sexual characteristics.

Whatever, who cares anyway? She’s doing a really good job at it though and her movements seem really natural instead of robotic.

Also, I’ve started to notice the other androids that were supposed to be acting as bouncers in the club.

They weren’t all androids of course, but I estimate there were three androids for every one human bouncer in the club.

They also seem like they were working in teams as well so a human bouncer would be seen being accompanied by at least one or two androids.

It also doesn’t look like the human bouncers have a bad impression of the androids either since I didn’t see them mistreating them just because they were machines.

Incidentally, the bouncer androids came in all sizes and genders. One of them was even in the shape of a rather petite woman that was a head shorter than I was and she looked like a teenager wearing a suit.

She looked really cool in that suit though.

It’s interesting that now that I knew about them, I was noticing all the small details that I hadn’t before. Such as the fact that they all moved like humans and had no problems moving around without making their movements look robotic.

That’s why if Ragbar hadn’t told me about the neck rings, I wouldn’t have known which ones were androids and which ones were humans.

I took a sip from the really expensive cocktail I made for myself. Ragbar said the first drink was on the house so I just went ahead to make myself one by throwing together some really expensive looking liquor.

Honestly, I was really just fucking around with this mix just to see how stupid I can go and somehow it still turned out really good.

Hopefully he doesn’t mind me using those top shelf liquors~

I placed the glass back down on the bar counter while I watched the mosh pit bob to the beat of the music the android DJ was playing.

“Hey, what’s a pretty girl like you doing alone on a fine night like this?” A voice came from the side.

Huh… Even in another universe there’s still guys trying to pick up girls in the bar huh?

Well, it has nothing to do with me so I’ll just ignore it. I’m more interested in tasting this cocktail I made for myself after all~

“Hey, did you hear me? Hello?”

Wow, the girl is acting like she can’t hear those guys huh? Not sure if that’s a smart move though, since I think they might be insulted and get pissed off which might cause them to react violently.

“Hey! I’m doing you a favour by approaching you, you know?! The least you could do was to at least say something!”

Haaaa… You see? They’re already going in that direction already. Whoever that is, you should either leave or at least tell them you’re not interested.

“Hey bitch! I’m talking to you!”

Oh no, I bet they’re going to grab her and try to–

Someone grabbed my arm and tried to pull at me.

My body reacted instinctively and I immediately yanked my arm out of their grasp and delivered a punch into their gut.

A guy I did not recognise doubled over in pain and sunk to the ground on his knees, his arms hugging his stomach in pain.

There were four guys behind him and all of them were looking at their fallen comrade in shock.

Err… What? Why are these guys behind me?

The guy I punched slowly got up on shaky legs and glared at me, “You… You punched me?! I was just trying to talk to you and you punched me?!”

Ah… So the person he was talking to was me?

Well fuck, I forgot that I’m actually susceptible to girl problems now…

I waved my hands placatingly at him, “I am so sorry… That was a reflex action from me since I’m a Merc, you see… You caught me while I was thinking about something so I was a little distracted and didn’t realise you were talking to me.”

He managed to stand back upright though he kept one hand on his stomach, “You really think a ‘sorry’ is just going to cut it? Who do you think you are?!”

I scowled at him, “Then what do you want? Fine, how about I buy you and your friends a round of drinks? That should be good enough as an apology right?”

Honestly, I don’t really want to cause problems if I can help it, especially since this might bring trouble to Ragbar and Valiea who have been so nice to me.

If this was anywhere else, I would have probably told them to fuck off or something.

Unfortunately, I could tell almost immediately that my method of trying to appease him to avoid conflict was not working because he smirked upon hearing my offer.

“Just one round of drinks? I think you punched me hard enough to break a rib, you know? That’s worth more than just a round of drinks.”

I managed to suppress my desire to roll my eyes at him by simply narrowing my eyes at him, “Then how many rounds of drinks do you want?”

He leaned on the counter to leer at me, “Oh, I’m a very generous person you see? I won’t ask you to pay for our drinks… All I want is for you to join us for our drinks. And I’ll even pay for your drinks too. Isn’t that generous?”

I can see his intentions as clear as day.

I turned away and picked up my drink from the counter before standing up, “No thanks. If you’re not taking my offer of buying drinks then I’m not doing anything else.”

Before I could leave, he reached forward and tried to grab my wrist but I dodged him and moved out of the way before he could catch me.

Unfortunately, his friends seemed to have anticipated this as two of them had moved to cut off my escape and the others had repositioned themselves to surround me, forcing me back to the bar.

I turned back to the guy, “I believe coercion is not allowed in this bar, am I right? Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Ahahaha! Coercion? I’m simply asking someone who hurt me for compensation right? Besides, you think they’ll believe you over us? There’s more of us than you, you know?”

Err… There’s the bartender behind the bar and he looks like he was ready to jump in already… Plus I’m pretty sure there are security cameras all over the place so I would have a lot of evidence against you if I were to really look for it…

Before I could point that out though, he tried to reach for me again and I got ready to fight until another hand reached out to grab his wrist.

All of us turned to see a petite girl wearing a suit standing there, her arm raised up to grab the guy’s wrist.

The first thing I noticed was the fact that there was a metallic ring around her neck and obviously, this was the android bouncer I saw earlier.

“Dear patron, it seems like you had too much to drink. We suggest that you take a break and back away,” The android bouncer told him.

Huh, so even the voice sounds natural instead of robotic.

“Who the fuck is this pipsqueak? You think you can come here and order me around?!” The guy roared, throwing a punch at her.

The android quickly stepped back to avoid the punch and she lowered her head slightly.

“Hostile actions detected. Commencing threat neutralisation procedures.”

She stepped in again while the guy tried to throw another punch at her.

The android simply leaned her body slightly to avoid it before she delivered an uppercut straight to the guy’s jaw, the impact knocking the poor guy out cold to crash onto the ground.

It was a clean punch and the movements were so smooth and executed perfectly.

The other bouncer who was her human partner had been glaring at the other four guys to keep them in place.

“Are we all going to have a problem here?” He asked threateningly.

Despite being outnumbered, he didn’t seem afraid and the four guys looked at their unconscious friend and made the smart decision of shaking their heads.

“Then you better take your drunk friend out of here. You hear me?” The human bouncer ordered.

They nodded and quickly picked up the unconscious guy before running off.

The bouncer then turned to nod at me, “Sorry about that. Enjoy your time here, Miss Tera.”

They then walked off without another word.

So it seems like it really was true that the people here all know who I was huh…
